David Banner(VII)

David is a multi-award winning video games & interactive movie writer, producer, director and entrepreneur. He is co-founder and Managing Director of Wales Interactive, a BAFTA Cymru award winning video games & interactive movie publisher based in Wales. He started his career back in 1995 at Eidos interactive in London as a games artist and over the years worked for many of the leading games development companies before creating his own successful studio in Wales. In that time, he has worked on over 50 titles encompassing a wide variety of gaming platforms including PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox and his collective portfolio has achieved millions of downloads worldwide. He has a vast knowledge of all aspects of the games industry including development, marketing, publishing and distribution which has helped him become one of the leading video game entrepreneurs in Wales. As well as being a three time BAFTA Cymru winner in 2017 he received the St David Award for Enterprise, the highest honour Welsh Government can bestow on a Welsh citizen. This was for his entrepreneurial achievements establishing the Games Industry in Wales and its positive impact on the Welsh economy. He was also recognised the following year in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2018 where he was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire - MBE -for "services to the video games industry". In 2020 he was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of Technology from De Montfort University in recognition for his achievements over his video games industry career.
