- Ran in the 2016 U.S. presidential election as an independent & qualified for ballot status in eleven states. While he ultimately received only 0.54% of the national popular vote, he earned 21% of the vote in his native Utah, the best third party performance in a state since Ross Perot achieved that threshold in numerous states in 1992.
