Roberto completed his studies towards a BA in Theatre and Performance at UCT in 2015, specialising in acting. He has been featured in numerous UCT productions including Bagasie directed by Sandra Temmingh, Our Country's Good directed by Geoffrey Hyland and Begeerte directed by Amy Jephta.
His most recent professional theatre productions include William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night directed by Geoffrey Hyland, The Fugard Theatre's Significant Other under the direction of Greg Karvellas, and Amy Jeptha's All Who Pass directed by Quanita Adams.
He made his TV debut in the Emmy award winning FOX drama, HOMELAND Season four as Marwand Haqqani opposite Mandy Patinkin and Claire Danes. He also starred in Oscar winning director, Gavin Hood's feature film EYE IN THE SKY as Rasheed Hamud with Helen Mirren and the late Alan Rickman.
The musical theatre genre and audience has also seen him as Carl Abrahams opposite Marc Lottering, Tarryn Lamb and Loukmaan Adams, in the Baxter Theatre's smash hit; Aunty Merle the Musical directed by Lara Foot.
Roberto's debut South African tv role came as Skalkie Fortuin in Human Stark's KNAPSEKêRELS, alongside Armand Aucamp and Brendan Daniels. He is currently known as Lee-Roy Foster on KykNET & kie's newest hit telenovela; Arendsvlei.
