Kim's crime thriller TV Pilot THE WATCHER was one of six winners of the Bisha K. Ali's Netflix and Sky Screenwriters' Fellowship 2021/22 and previously finalist for the BBC Studios ScriptWorks and Thousand Films Scriptwriting competition 2021.
Kim is a writer for the screen and stage. Her original scripts reflect a clear interest in family, social issues, women's rights and mental health. She is a drama writer who loves blending genres from gripping supernatural thrillers and sci-fi to dark comedy.
Kim's play SOMEBODY CHILE reached the shortlist in BBC Writers Open Call 2024. Her play MY BROTHER's KEEPER was shortlisted for The Women's Prize for Playwriting 2020 with EKP and Paines Plough.
Her commissioned short film NO ENTRY, a drama on the Windrush Injustice, was officially selected for Academy, BAFTA and Canadian Screen Award Qualifying festivals in 2021/22, including BlackStar Film Festival 2021, Montreal International Black Film Festival (2021) and American Black Film Festival 2022. NO ENTRY won Best Screenplay at Little Wing Film Festival 2022, London. NO ENTRY was streaming on American Airlines inflight entertainment 2022/23.
Her script THE DRAFT, a sci-fi short about Friendship and Motherhood, won the EQUAL short screenplay competition 2020 by ProcamTV and the Farm Group. THE DRAFT was fully funded, shot on a Virtual Production Stage and submitted to festivals in 2022/23 - winning Best Sci-Fi Short 2023 in two festivals. THE DRAFT is streaming on DUST - the Sci-Fi division of independent studio SKY & Gunpowder - with more than 70,000 views and free to watch on DUST Youtube.
