Aline Belfort born and raised in Fortaleza, works as a cinematographer on features, shorts, documentaries, advertisements, theatre, dance and music videos.
With a bachelor's degree and specialization in cinematography at the Russian Film Institute - VGIK (2011-2016), in Moscow and Master degree at Kino Eyes Movie Master (2019-2021).
In 2021 concluded the Performing Arts Advanced Programme (Pacap) at Forum Dança (Lisboa, PT) curated by João Fiadeiro in Lisbon as a way to develop her studies connecting camera movement with perfomance.
The films she shot as a cinematographer were screened at numerous film festivals around the world, among which IFFR, Bafici, Edinburgh and Sao Paulo International Film Festival.
Aline seeks to give an individual signature to every project, dedicating her research to find the essence which will make the work unique.
In addition to filmmaking, she studies and work with contemporary dance. Her relationship with corporality is beyond capturing bodies moving in front of the camera, but rather thinking of different ways of how her body can move to create a look that transits into spaces in a different way expressing an inner sensation, rather than just portraying.
She believes in collaborative processes and the interchange between different arts, such as dance, theater and poetry with cinema.
