Two years have gone by since we heard that an adaptation of the Adam Cesare novel Clown in a Cornfield (pick up a copy Here) was in the works, with Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil and Little Evil‘s Eli Craig on board to direct the film. Now we know when we’re going to have the chance to see the movie, as it has been announced that Rlje Films will be giving it a theatrical release in the United States on May 9, 2025. That will be followed by a streaming release on the Shudder service.

Published in 2020, author Adam Cesare gave rise to a new slasher villain in the horror novel Clown in a Cornfield, and the horror movie adaptation is on the way next year.

Deadline reports this morning that Rlje Films and Shudder have acquired the Clown in a Cornfield movie, with a wide theatrical released planned for May 9, 2025.

Eli Craig (Tucker & Dale vs. Evil) directed the movie adaptation of the young adult slasher novel, which was published by HarperCollins in 2020 and spawned two sequels.

Katie Douglas (Ginny & Georgia), Carson MacCormac (Shazam!), Aaron Abrams (Hannibal), Will Sasso (The Three Stooges), and Kevin Durand (Abigail) star.

Netflix has launched the trailer for its film adaptation of Jessica Knoll’s 2015 book “Luckiest Girl Alive,” starring Mila Kunis.

Mike Barker will direct the film, and Knoll herself is adapting the screenplay based on her book.

“Soon I’ll be an editor at the New York Times Magazine, and in six weeks I’m getting married in a lavish but tasteful ceremony,” Kunis’ character Ani FaNelli opens the clip, sharing news of her wedding to Luke (Finn Wittrock). “Luke comes from money, but I have something no trust fund can buy: The Edge.”

All of Ani’s dreams are about to come true with her new job, wedding and more, but when her fiancé introduces her to a past acquaintance who doesn’t remember her at first, she flashes back to a buried memory of a shocking incident that took place when she was younger.

With the elongated awards season behind us, it’s time to turn our attention to the 2019 cinematic offerings and this month is a doozy. Featuring some of the greatest films we saw on the festival circuit in the last year as well as a few hugely promising new releases, it’s a varied, impressive slate. There’s also one film that I full-heartedly despised and couldn’t bear to mention, but other writers here feel on the other end of the spectrum, so it should at least provoke some heated discussion this month.

Considering the breadth of films that arrive at the Toronto International Film Festival, a few gems can get lost in the shuffle. One to highlight as it opens this spring is Keith Behrman’s Giant Little Ones, which affectingly explores the damage of homophobia in a small town community. Starring Josh Wiggins, Maria Bello, Kyle MacLachlan, Darren Mann, and Taylor Hickson, the first trailer (which includes a few quotes from our outlet) and poster have arrived.

He surrounds Franky with non-cisgender characters to love, resent, and accept each for different reasons that transcend compassion.
