Due to her father being born in Scotland, Myles received dual citizenship.

Myles sold cars in the interim of transitioning from a newscaster to actor, and in a casual conversation to a potential customer said she didn't want to sell cars, she wanted to act. She had no idea she was telling this to a casting director who passed along his business card and introduced her to her first agent as an adult.

When asked, along with everyone in her fifth grade class, to write an answer to "what will you be in 15 years?" to print in their yearbook, Myles' response was "a news reporter on television." Exactly 15 years later she was.
