Neon said today it’s closed a $200 million-plus credit facility led by Comerica Bank.

The funding, which follows the leading indie distributor and producer’s previous facility with Comerica from October of 2022, will be used to bolster core operations, including film acquisition, development, production, and distribution, while also expanding into new markets. The investment will further support strategic initiatives and strengthen its international footprint, driving additional growth.

Earlier this year it debuted a new international sales strand, with Cannes its first official stop, launching international for Keeper, the next genre film by Longlegs helmer Osgood Perkins.

Oscar-winning indie studio Neon has secured a new $200 million credit facility, flushing the company with cash for operations and growth.

The infusion, which could keep “Anora” star Mikey Madison in lucite platform heels until the end of time, is led by Neon’s existing credit provider Comerica Bank. The raise will contribute to film acquisition, development, production, distribution and market expansion, Neon said Monday.

“Comerica believes in the vision of Neon and couldn’t be more thrilled to support their continued growth. Their ability to identify and curate film, while finding innovative ways to connect audiences with cinema, is unmatched,” said Comerica Entertainment Group SVP Derek Riedel, adding that the “independent film landscape is a core pillar of our business and we are excited about the future.”

Riedel oversaw the transaction for the bank, with Neon chief financial officer Ryan Friscia negotiating on the studio side.

Neon has closed a $200 million plus credit facility led by Comerica Bank. The funding follows the studio’s previous revolving credit facility with Comerica Bank in October 2022.

The new credit will, according to Monday’s official release, “Be allocated to bolster its core operations, including film acquisition, development, production and distribution, while also expanding into new markets. The investment will further support strategic initiatives and strengthen its international footprint, driving additional growth.”

The deal was negotiated and managed by the studio’s chief financial officer Ryan Friscia at the end of a year that has included “Anora,” directed by Sean Baker and starring Mikey Madison, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in May; and Osgood Perkins’ “Longlegs,” which became the highest-grossing independent feature of the year with more than $75 million domestically. Their 2024 slate also included Sydney Sweeney in “Immaculate” and Hunter Schafer in “Cuckoo.”

This year alone, Neon released one of the biggest box office hits in its history with “Longlegs” and had a fifth-straight winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes with “Anora.” With more exciting projects in the works — like “They Follow,” the sequel to one of their earliest hits “It Follows” — even bigger and better things may be on the horizon. All of that costs money.

On Monday, Neon announced it has closed a $200 million-plus credit facility as led by Comerica Bank (it previously had another from Comerica in 2022). Tom Quinn’s distributor will use that investment to bolster its film acquisition (Palme d’Or winners don’t come cheap!) and development, production, and distribution. The housing market really is that scary. Netflix’s first full-length trailer for No Good Deed features Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano as a Los Angeles couple struggling to hide a potentially deadly secret beneath a plot of prime real estate.

The dark comedy, set for release next month, follows a hodgepodge of families interested in buying Kudrow and Romano’s house, a “1920s Spanish-style villa located in one the most desirable neighborhoods in Los Angeles,” per the press release.

Though the various groups “believe [the house] to be their dream house” and are “convinced it will fix all of their very different problems … Lydia and Paul know all too well [that] sometimes the home of your dreams can be a true nightmare.”

Kevin Williamson’s The Waterfront has found a new resident: Topher Grace (That ’70s Show) will recur in the forthcoming Netflix family drama, our sister site Deadline reports.

Inspired by true events, The Waterfront “dives into the flawed Buckley family as their attempts to retain control of their crumbling North Carolina fishing empire drive them to increasingly dangerous means to keep themselves afloat,” reads the official logline. When a beautiful, 1920s Spanish-style villa goes on sale in Los Feliz, several different families find themselves competing to purchase the home. But even as the characters believe they've found their dream house, it soon becomes apparent that everyone is hiding something and this competition has a way of bringing those secrets to the forefront.

Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum executive produce the series for Gloria Sanchez Productions along with Christie Smith and Silver Tree. Tree also directed the pilot and additional episodes of the series. Filming for the eight-episode comedy reportedly got underway in October 2023 in Scotland.

The real estate market is killer — and perhaps in more ways than one on “No Good Deed.” The new series, from “Dead to Me” creator Liz Feldman, will premiere with all eight episodes on Thursday, Dec. 12, Netflix revealed Monday, along with a teaser.

“No Good Deed” stars Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow as empty-nesters Paul and Lydia, respectively, who are selling their 1920s Spanish-style villa in Los Feliz, Calif. Three families are itching to buy the home, which harbors some “dark and dangerous secrets,” per the logline, that Paul and Lydia may not be able to confront themselves.

The ensemble cast includes Feldman’s “Dead to Me” star Linda Cardellini, along with O-t Fagbenle, Abbi Jacobson, Denis Leary, Poppy Liu, Teyonah Parris, and Luke Wilson. Feldman, who directed two episodes, serves as executive producer alongside Silver Tree, who directed the other six, and Christie Smith, Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell of Gloria Sanchez Productions.

Produced by Will Ferrell’s production shingle, Gloria Sanchez Productions, the upcoming half-hour mystery comedy features an ensemble cast led by Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano, Denis Leary, Abbi Jacobson, Poppy Liu, O-t Fagbenle, Teyonah Parris, Luke Wilson, and Feldman’s previous collaborator, Linda Cardellini.
