Veronica Maccari is an actor, writer, and filmmaker from Monza, Italy, whose humor, wit, and creative courage transpire in everything she does, on and off camera. As an award-winning filmmaker and performer, Veronica infuses her work with the tenacity and resourcefulness that come with being a global citizen who has traveled the world as an international-level sailing athlete prior to her acting career. As an actor, she has a talent for navigating genre-defying pieces in the vein of HBO and Hulu-style dramedies. Veronica has brought risk-taking performances to life in all media, and especially on stages such as at the Broadway Comedy Club, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, Shakespeare on the Sound, and Hudson Theater's hit Off-Broadway show My Big Gay Italian Wedding. She produces, writes, directs, and stars in her own film and theater projects as well. Her most recent short film, Polly Pocket, which she produced, wrote, and starred in as the lead, has been selected by 16 international film festivals and won four awards so far, including Best Actress. Veronica studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City and then in Los Angeles, where she earned a BFA in Performing Arts. She has worked on a variety of commercials, plays, and movies on both coasts and continues to do so. As a fierce advocate for female and gender-nonconforming individuals of all races, Veronica's dedication is fueled by the pursuit of thought-provoking storytelling that challenges the audiences' expectations of womxn characters and, subsequently, of the womxn around them in real life.
