The release, also marking Barbie’s 65th anniversary, is part of the Barbie Dream Gap Project, which was launched in 2018 to challenge gender stereotypes and help “undo the biases that hold girls back from reaching their full potential,” according to Mattel. Mumbai, May 4 (Ians) Neeraj Chopra, India’s first Olympic gold medallist in track and field and first Indian ever to win a Diamond Trophy, will start the defence of his javelin throw title in the first event of the 2023 Diamond League at the Qatar Sports Club in Doha, on Friday.
Chopra will be among a host of champions to feature in one of the most prestigious athletics events of the season.
The Doha meet will also see Commonwealth Games triple jump champion Eldhose Paul compete in a field including reigning Olympic champion Pedro Pichardo from Portugal and reigning Diamond League winner Andy Diaz Hernandez from Cuba.

The seven-minute long track marks the rapper’s first solo single in almost three years.
Jamal Edwards, who died earlier this year from cardiac arrest, was a pioneer in internet videography, a cultural catalyst, philanthropist and entrepreneur who helped launch and develop the careers of a number of musicians, including Rita Ora and Ed Sheeran.
The “Mel Made Me Do It” video features a host of guest appearances from over 35 influential figures, including Dave, Little Simz, Gabrielle, Jose Mourinho and more.
The video, which is directed by Klvdr, is nearly 11 minutes long and also features a monologue written by Wretch 32 and narrated by I May Destroy You’s Michaela Coel.
The video features a multitude of influential Black figures including Edwards, whose framed photo is shown being held up by his family.

The football manager, currently managing Italian team Roma, shocked fans with his cameo in the British rapper’s recently released video for his new track.
“Mel Made Me Do It” is Stormzy’s first solo track in nearly three years.
The video, which clocks in just under 11 minutes, was released on YouTube on Thursday night (22 September).
Mourinho appears on screen alongside Stormzy when the rapper samples his much-memed comment, saying: “I prefer not to speak like I’m Jose.”
The lyric is a reference to Mourinho’s infamous 2014 quote he gave after a defeat when he managed Chelsea, stating: “I prefer really not to speak. If I speak I’m in big trouble.”
