Rita Reis(II)

Originally from Luxembourg and Portugal, Rita Reis has also lived in the United States, Belgium, China and Australia. She has a BA and an MA from the Royal Conservatory of Liège and an MFA from Point Park University, in Pittsburgh. Rita has performed in feature films and TV shows in Portuguese -- Finisterra and Projecto Global -- in English -- SkinWalker, Progression and Maret -- and in French -- Rusty Boys and Third Wedding. She has collaborated in the development of several devised new theatre pieces and has performed in plays by authors such as: Chekhov, Bond, Brecht, Bergman, Beckett, García Lorca, Fassbinder, Perec, Bonal, Paradivino, Muller, Poesner and Schnitzler. Rita also wrote and directed A Roda produced by Kufunana, in Mozambique and collaborated in the development, writing and performing of Fat Becket -- produced by Quantum Theatre and published by Playscripts, N.Y. For the Théâtre d'Esch, Rita wrote and directed Intranquillités, inspired by The Book of the Unquietness, by Fernando Pessoa and The Little Giril from the Sea, based on a tale by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andersen. For Esch European Capital of Culture she contributed to the development of two pieces, in which she performed: Idiomatic and Human Nations, United Rights.
