Sofia Gaspar is a Canadian actress born in Toronto, Canada coming from a Portuguese family.
You may have caught her in York University's theatrical productions of David Yee's carried away on the crest of a wave, The Birds by Erin Shields, Rochdale by David Yee, directed by Nina Lee Aquino, The Balcony by Jean Genet and more. Sofia also appears in; Dexta Daps latest music video, "Chandelier", "American Gothic" playing young Sophie, "Miracles Decoded" as the Virgin Mary, "Cineplex, Choices 2016 Time Play PSA" as Brooke, a Canadian in gratitude in the Shaw Communications/Tony Miros "Canadian Thanksgiving Project" and more. Sofia's training includes four years studying theatre and acting at York University's acting conservatory program.
She is very well educated in a variety of movement techniques including; the Alexander Technique, Laban Movements, Kinesthetic Transference, and the Growtowski and Suzuki methods. She has also studied and performed in different mediums including; Camera Training, Restoration, Absurdism, and more.
When she's not learning to perfect an accent, Sofia spends a lot of her time doing yoga, filming self tapes of her favorite monologues, writing in her journal and exploring all there is to know about life.
Sofia has a strong passion for acting and being what she refers to as, "the acrobat of the soul": sharing what's inside herself to fit new characters, letting her most authentic self shine through.
