Tawfik alzaidi is a Saudi Writer, film director and producer. Alzaidi began directing his own short films in 2006 and is considered a leading and influential member of the new cinema wave in Saudi Arabia. Alzaidi wrote, directed and produced "Norah", his homegrown debut feature film and made history when it was selected as the first Saudi film at the Cannes Film Festival 77. His film Norah won a Special Mention from the Cannes jury in the Un Certain Regard category.
