With the essence of music running in her blood, embracing it as a full-time profession did not require much contemplation on the part of the super-talented Prakriti Kakar. One half of India's only "singing twins", Prakriti, along with her sister Sukriti, has taken the nation by storm with many of her songs. Having made her playback singing debut in 2012 with the title track of "Tutiya Dil" in the company of Ram Sampath, Prakriti has blossomed into an emerging talent to watch out for in the years to come.
Prakriti Kakar further continued to carve a niche for herself with the likes of "Boss" and "Goti Song" from the films Boss and Nasha respectively. In 2015, Prakriti tasted success and critical acclaim with "Katra Katra" in Alone and "Bheegh Loon" in Khamoshiyan. The varied tracks further underscored her growing credentials as a versatile performer who could pull off sensual ballads and heartfelt musings with effortless ease. She followed that up with "Tu Itne Khoobsurat Hai" from Barkhaa later that same year. 2017 has seen Prakriti sing "Hai Zaroori" in the Sonakshi Sinha starrer Noor and "Dil Mera" in Guest iin London. Her acoustic version of the smash hit "Darkhaast" from Shivaay, released by T-Series, has won her rave reviews.
Prakriti's hugest achievement is her dance track "Hawa Hawa" in the film Mubarakan along with Mika. This song is listed as number 1 among the topmost 10 songs googled in India 2017!
Prakriti has featured on one of the sessions of T-Series' web series property MixTape and also on the Remix Show, coming up shortly on Amazon Prime.
Apart from her ongoing exploits in Tinseltown, Prakriti has also furthered her body of work steadily. Prakriti lent her voice to "Mujhse Hogi Shurvaat" alongside Shankar Mahadevan to tackle the scourge of corruption. The same was nominated for the "Best Activist Anthem" at the Honesty Oscars, 2014. Talk about commitment to a relevant cause. She has also worked on ad jingles for reputed brands such as Parle, ITC Sunfeast, Colgate and Spraymintt, amongst others. Prakriti has also sung for the Hindi version of the popular Disney film Camp Rock 2.
