Eric Wagner-Barrena was born in S. Miami, Fla. At age 15 Eric's family moved to Mexico City, Mexico. Eric is fluent in Spanish and English.
Eric became a well-know disc jockey in private clubs in Mexico City. By age 19 Eric relocated to, Los Angeles, Ca. where he studied acting at the SMCC., modeling with Caroline Leonetti, dance at The Stanly Holden Dance Studios, martial arts with renowned master, Michael Pollack at The Wen Wo School of Internal Martial Arts and formed a part of the Santa Monica Readers Theater. At 21 Eric returned to Mexico City where he worked as an actor and fashion model. As a fashion model Eric has lived for over a year in Tokyo, Japan, London, England, Central America, Miami, Florida and garnered the coveted OMNI Award for "Male Model of The Year" from Novedades y Editores in Mexico City) filmed over thirty television commercials, trained at Televisa S.A. in acting, executed small speaking parts on such films as Volunteers (1985) (with John Candy, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and directed by, Nicholas Meyer), Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985) (starring Fred Ward and Joel Grey and directed by, the legendary Mr. Guy Hamilton) and did extensive work for Televisa as a voice over dubbing actor for the English-speaking overseas market at Televisa Churubusco recording studios.
Eric decided to return stateside and dedicate his life to writing. During this period, Eric had the opportunity to develop into a professional Stand-In where he had the privilege of working under Mr. Stephen Frears as Billy Crudup's Stand-In for three months on, The Hi-Lo Country (1998), under Mr. Billy Bob Thornton as Stand-In for, Henry Thomas for almost two months on the feature, All the Pretty Horses (2000), under Mr. Barry Sonnenfeld for actor Kevin Kline for close to two months on Wild Wild West (1999).
In 2013 Eric suffered the loss of his younger brother, the a Santa Fe artist/painter, Mark Edward Wagner. At this time Eric made the decision to return to acting and has since performed a small role in, John Michael McDonagh's, War on Everyone (2016) and roles in several short films. Eric is a professionally trained, serious actor who has learned the importance of focus through the association with the most demanding celebrities in the industry. He looks forward to a full and challenging career as a professional actor.
