Used to be a bouncer before taking up writing and directing. That is where he got one of the nicknames Diesel, taken after Vin Diesel due to them both being bald and having a history as bouncers at nightclubs.
Considered going into law enforcement but took a job with New York State instead.
Trained in Muy Thai kick-boxing, Brazilian Jui-Jitsu and wrestling during his time as a Bouncer.
