Sinead Sommers(I)
- Actress
Sinead Sommers was born and raised in Ireland as one of six children. Her parents were hard working civil servants who taught her the value of honesty, integrity and most of all modesty...
Grateful but undeterred by the modesty warning Sinead set off for America in her late teens. With a heart for adventure, bundles of hope and about $250 Sinead arrived in New York City. It wasn't long before life taught her that adventure comes at a price and that $250 was barely enough to get her from JFK to the end of her first week in New York. After a brief but scary stay in a crack and roach hotel near Times Square, Sinead was rescued by the kindness of strangers (a story way too fantastic and long to tell here) and her American dream was on!
Sinead found her niche in advertising after surviving as a waitress and children's party entertainer in the early years. She became an account executive and traveled the US extensively working with Fortune 500 companies for a number of years, eventually founding her own agency in Manhattan.
An avid traveler Sinead has hiked, trekked and explored many beautiful parts of the world, her favorites being her walk on the 500 mile Camino in northern Spain, her visit to the Himalayas in northern India and to the exquisite valleys of southern Ecuador.
On her travels Sinead discovered her love of the performing arts and decided to train as an actor. Returning to Dublin to study and perform in many stage productions, including leading roles in Orphans, Hamlet, and the original cast of Bound, a groundbreaking play about prostitution in rural Ireland.
Now a citizen of her adopted and beloved US, Sinead lives in LA working as an actor and pursuing a career in television and film.
