Jamel Lajuan is a Film Producer born in Birmingham, Alabama who started out in the TV industry as a child actor in regional TV commercials and young model for magazines. After retiring from playing college sports and receiving an honorable discharge as a U.S. Army combat veteran, Jamel re-entered the film industry in Atlanta, Georgia.
In Atlanta, Jamel worked on Movie Sets as a Production Assistant and as an Extra for Tyler Perry Productions, Survivor's Remorse (Season 2), and on Ang Lee's feature film 'Billy's Long Halftime Walk'.
In 2015, Jamel moved to Los Angeles and enrolled in film school. Jamel decided to complete his education with a Master's Degree in Film & Media Production. He graduated in the Fall of 2016. After film school he entered a year-long mentorship program at Fox Sports Networks and interned at Light Iron post production house. Today, Jamel has Produced a Feature Documentary, 9 Narrative Short Films, 2 Spec Commercials, a Short Documentary, and an Experimental Art film. His 1st feature film, Iron Grit, won the Audience Award for Best Black Lens Film at 2019 Sidewalk Film Festival.
Jamel is currently focused on a career as an Independent Film Producer. He currently resides in Las Vegas, NV and Los Angeles, CA.
