Music composer Himesh Reshammiya says the song ‘Tuk Tuk’ from the upcoming film ‘Middle Class Love’ was conceptualised to give a youthful vibe to the movie. Music composer Himesh Reshammiya has doubled up as a singer for the track as he is joined by playback singer Payal Dev behind the mic.

Talking about the track, Himesh said, “‘Tuk Tuk’ is a fun catchy number which is sure to make you tap your feet. The narrative of the film had to be taken forward with two friends bonding and having a great time without a care in the world and hence the song was conceptualised to give a youthful vibe. I had a blast composing and singing this song.”

Mumbai, June 2 (Ians) Television actor Shaheer Sheikh appears in the music video of Stebin Ben and Payal Dev's new song "Baarish ban jaana", alomng with Hina Khan. Shaheer recalls shooting in extreme conditions for the song in Kashmir.

"I was not expecting the place to be so cold, it was quite windy and cold. After the rain sequence, the production house really took care of us but it was still freezing cold and they used the river water that was like directly coming from the Himalayan region like melted ice," Shaheer recalled.

The actor also said that he was excited about the release of the song, which is slated to release on June 3.

Mumbai, March 15 (Ians) Singers expected to dress and look a certain way is an additional pressure, feels singer-composer Payal Dev.

"We are expected to look and dress a certain way and I feel it is an added pressure. Like you cannot turn up at an event in normal clothes, looking casual or without makeup. Apart from singing, you have to look good, too," Payal told Ians.

However, she is all praise for Arijit Singh for not adhering to the trend.

"There is one exception, which is Arijit Singh. You will never see him wearing loud makeup and showy clothes, he looks just normal and that's his style. Every singer has their style. Styling is very important but I feel but music is even more important. At the end of the day it's your music that will matter and not your look."

Mumbai, March 11 (Ians) Singer-composer Payal Dev reveals she used live instruments to record her new composition "Danka baja" in the upcoming film "Mumbai Saga".

"Given the grand scale of ‘Mumbai Saga', it was quite interesting to compose a festive song, something I have not done before for a movie. Initially I composed the hookline and we worked on the production. Once the track was ready, we reached out to (lyricist) Prashant Ingole and (singer) Dev Negi to record the song," said Payal.

The idea of using live instrument to record the song, as it was done in days of yore, helped because of the festive spirit of the song.

"Music producer Aditya Dev made sure that we used live instruments that are usually used to create the Ganpati vibe and authenticity to the song to make it sound grand," Payal said.

She is looking forward to the release of "Mumbai Saga" in theatres.

Veteran Bengali folk artiste Ratan Kahar has added his creative touch to a new Bengali version of the hit track Genda phool by rapper Badshah.

Earlier this year, Badshah had to fend against plagiarism accusations after the release of his single, "Genda phool". Chunks of song, including its hook, were lifted off Kahar's Bengali folk classic "Boroloker biti lo". At that time, the rapper had acted swiftly to do damage control. Amidst lockdown, he reached out to Kahar and deposited money into the veteran folk artiste's bank account.

Popular qawwal Altaf Raja has teamed up with Bollywood singer-composer Payal Dev for a new track.

Raja, who became a household name singing "Tum to there pardesi" in the nineties, has collaborated with Payal for a song titled "Ae Sanamm", which banks on a retro vibe.

"I composed this melody specially keeping him (Altaf Raja) in mind and imagining how he would sound on this," Payal said of her upcoming track. 'Ae Sanamm' is a song I am personally fond of. When this idea came to my mind I could only think of Altaf Raja justifying this.
