- Stephi was born in Venezuela, but at age 16 she moved to Montreal, Canada where she completed an international baccalaureate and a B.A. in International Development, with a minor in Environment and a minor in Communications, at McGill University. During her career, and given her interest in foreign aid, human rights and environmental rights, she interned at the United Nations Environmental Programme in Geneva. Subsequently, she worked for various NGOs, such as Amnesty International and Oxfam, in various event planning and communications-related capacities. In parallel, she worked as a freelance journalist, for the print media, online and on-camera as a host/reporter.
Her deep love for film had been on a long pause. It began when she was merely 7 years old, when she started writing short scripts and recording skits with her parent's 90s camcorder. Her extracurricular activities were poetry, dancing, theater, and painting. Film remained a dream career for many years, until 2013 when she returned to the academic realm, this time to get a degree in Film Studies. Since then, she has been able to write, direct, produce and edit several short films, including: Pills of Wisdom, Tunnel Vision, Good Girls Get the Part, and her thesis project, The Rise of Karina, which has just won a Silver Telly Award, which means first place in its category, as part of the 38th Annual Telly Awards 2017, and it was also a finalist at the Miami International Film Festival's CinemaSlam competition.
In the Spring of 2015 Stephanie graduated with an MFA in Film from the Miami International University of Art & Design, and is looking forward to furthering her career and expanding her experience in video production, while building her career as a Film Director and Producer.
