Mo Bluntz is a character characterized by a suggestive moniker that's as ambiguous as his music. Michael McNichols, a suburban-hell-hole-bred-hopeful born into a culture of digital tweens, serves as one of the many frustrated millennials looking to bring renaissance back to inspire revolution. As many other suburbia bred rebels, Mo turned to the arts for expression at a young age. His mother wanted him to play flute, his brother played guitar, Mo chose drums. Perhaps its the aggressive nature of the drums that persuaded Mo but it didn't take long for Mo to learn to channel his frustrations through the instrument. Through the years Mo has refined his musical style (elaborate) and as he's matured youthful frustration stemming from societal displacement nurtures existential explorations of the true meaning of life. Mo's youthful anger based drumming has evolved to sophisticated rhythms laced with feelings of hope and self confidence. He is exploring other facets of his musical identity in Minneapolis acid-lounge band Cruel Love with smoky vocals from Bonnie Stitches accompanied by dark pedal driven guitar riffs from Mo. He is also lacing tight beats to the spacy hip hop synthesis of Minneapolis based hip hop artist Astronautalis. You can find Mo touring in Europe or catch him locally in Minneapolis, but regardless his passion hits home with a message that's universal.
