Nikolay Dobronravov is a Soviet and Russian songwriter, film actor.
Dobronravov was born in Leningrad. His father, Nikolay Petrovich Dobronravov, was an engineer and worked at a factory. Mother - Elena Dmitrievna Dobronravova, nee Dobrokhotova, was engaged in housekeeping and raising her son. His upbringing as a child was mainly done by his paternal grandmother. She visited theaters with the boy, introducing him to various forms of art: opera, ballet, puppet and dramatic performances.
At the beginning of the war, Nikolay ended up in an orphanage, which was evacuated first to the capital and then to Gorkiy. Since 1942 he lived in Malakhovka (Lyuberetskiy district of the Moscow region). There he graduated from high school with a gold medal.
Dobronravov graduated from the Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko School-Studio at the Gorkiy Moscow Art Theater and the Moscow City Teachers' Institute.
Nikolay Nikolaevich tried his hand at cinema in his youth. In the early 50s he starred in two Soviet films - Sportivnaya chest (1951) and Vasili's Return (1953). In the mid-60s, Dobronravov ended his acting career and switched entirely to literary work. The songs written by him together with his wife, composer Aleksandra Pakhmutova, were extremely popular. Dobronravov is an author of lyrics for many films.
