Gregory Caruso(III)
- Producer
- Director
- Writer
Caruso grew up within a tightly-knit, Catholic, Italian-American household in Los Angeles. Between late-night TCM viewings with his father and his mother's love for The Red Balloon, his reverence for mid-century American cinema complemented his athletic pursuits.
After graduating from USC's Cinema School in 2014, Caruso founded Bristol Pictures. His first three films were released on Netflix, including the indie period piece Flock of Four (2018). He subsequently released the documentary Conversion (2022), which tells the story of two unlikely friends and psychologists in the late 1960s and their roles in eliminating "Homosexuality" from the DSM.
Caruso writes about expectations, nostalgia, and the grounded sense of hope that can persevere through disappointment with the help of community and humor.
