Jose A. Parody is an award-winning Colombian composer based in Los Angeles, CA. By exploring new sound palettes with both traditional composition and contemporary music production techniques, Parody brings a special voice to each of his projects.
In the summer of 2018, Parody was honored with his second Emmy for his score for the Emmy-winning show "The Migrant Kitchen" (KCET/Life&Thyme), a recognition which he also received for the first season in 2017.
Some of his most profound education came from his assistant-ship with British composer Tom Howe, where Parody had the opportunity to observe the importance of not only talent, but also, the value of teamwork and communication. Throughout 2017 and 2018, Parody assisted Tom on feature films such as "Professor Marston & the Wonder Women"(Stage 6 Films/SONY), "Early Man"(Aardman Animations), "Charming" (Netflix), and "Wonder Woman"(Warner Bros).
In 2020, Parody partnered up with Safari Riot, an award-winning creative music company, to create "Sanctuary," a composer collective. Their first album together was released in December of 2021. The album draws on neoclassical influences, emotional orchestral and choral elements, and organ, all recorded live in both Iceland and Los Angeles.
Parody's credits also include additional music on "The Twilight Zone"(CBS All Access/Monkeypaw Productions), "All Rise"(CBS), "Motherland: Fort Salem"(Freeform/Gary Sanchez Productions), "Black Box"(Amazon/Blumhouse), "Last Czars"(Netflix), "I Knew Jesus" (CNN/Nutopia), and "Indian Boarding School" (Channel 4 Television).
