Janaé Rachel Ballot grew up in Beverly Hills, California and in an entertainment industry family that dates back to working in Old Hollywood with the likes of modeling, professional photography, acting and working alongside industry giants such as: Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock, Lana Turner, Shirley Temple and more.
At 5 years old, Ms. Ballot was thrust into the business as a dancer turned actress. Ms. Ballot quickly discovered her love for storytelling and focused on screenwriting and producing at 19. Her love for the behind the scenes grew as she learned from different filmmakers turned mentors and department heads on film and TV sets. Ms. Ballot has features in developments.
Ms. Ballot wrote and produced her directorial debut "Managed", a comedic satirical TV pilot that charts the ups and downs of a high strung talent manager (Savannah Ballot), who manages her famous clients existential crisis (Devin Brochu)
After the film festival success of Managed, Ms. Ballot wrote and directed a short film per year for a few years. She fashioned short films and music videos as a way to fill up the creative cup through a team effort.
Now Ms Ballot has shifted her focus in the business. She selects her projects with a patient and keen mind. But the goal will remain: Janaé Rachel Ballot will focus on mixing originality with familiarity in creative works to further meaningful storytelling.
