- Noël was born on Christmas Day, which explains why his parents chose that name for him.
- Noël's name is preferably spelled with a diaeresis over the 'e' which indicates that it is sounded as part of a separate syllable, as in "no-el" rather than "nole." The diaeresis is of French origin and is often confused with the German umlaut, which goes over the first vowel of a diphthong, rather than the second.
- At just 16 years old, Noël enrolled in formal training as a comic book artist with Dick Giordano and Frank McLaughlin, two of the most well-known artists of their time. Dick was the current President of DC Comics, the makers of his favorite hero: Batman. Frank was the inker on the Justice League of America book, one of DC's most popular titles.
