Alex attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in just three years, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Film Production with honors. He interned with David Layton of Picturebox Productions, working in several capacities in the field, studio, and the edit room. Alex was eventually picked up by Director Margaret Brown to work on her award-winning documentary 'The Great Invisible'. He spent two years working as Assistant Editor and Digital Image Technician (DIT) on the film, seeing it to it's completion at Fotokem in Burbank, CA. Alex continued to work as an Assistant Editor, Editor, and DIT, getting to work with comedic directors Bryan Poyser and Andrew Bujalski.
On Bujalski's 'Results', starring Guy Pierce and Kobie Smulders, Alex was also able to cut a short sequence for the film, as well as produce some visual effects work that was utilized in the final film.
Since the completion of Results, Alex moved to Houston, where he continued to work on several smaller projects. He had the opportunity to edit the documentary portions of a tour documentary, Israel Houghton & New Breed: Alive in Asia. He has also worked as a VFX and motion graphics artist on commercial advertisements, as well as shot and produced several weddings and live events.
Alex manages his small post-production, branding, and website company RxPost and a wedding film company with his wife and fellow editor, Jennifer Harley.
