Diana Chao is a Taiwanese filmmaker, who earned her BA in English Literature & Linguistics from National Chengchi University (2007, Taipei TW) & MFA in Film Production at USC's School of Cinematic Arts (2013, Los Angeles USA) by concentrating in writing & directing. In 2012, she directed to promote an US-China collaboration feature Finding Me. Right in NYC. In 2014, she worked with the KungfuPanda III team as interpreter at Dreamworks. Dedicated to independent filmmaking, she joined the team of Vidlings & Tapeheads Film Festival as their programmer for 2017 and 2018.
The Restoration (2015) and Match (2016) are her two independent shorts after graduation. The Restoration premiered in competition at Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival and was awarded "Merit for Cinematography" at 2015 Rochester International Short Film Festival (NY, US) and "Best Original Score" at 2015 Long Island Film Expo; Match received "Best Romantic Short Film" at 2017 Near Narareth Film Festival (Isreal) and "Best International Short Film" at 2017 Festival Angaelica (Big Bear Lake, CA, US).
Diana's upcoming project Big Little Man (2019) has won the Taiwanese government sponsorship for short films offered by Ministry of Culture and was shot in April, 2018 and is in its post production phase.
