In 2007, Schraeder had played high-profile gigs at Lollapalooza and CMJ, even before the release of his first EP. This resulted in him touring to promote over 25 of his albums, which included memorable performances at the Kennedy Center, SXSW and a month of shows across Japan. Schraeder then found himself road-weary and ready to trade the stage for the big screen.
