Taron Egerton plays a blackmailed Tsa agent who receives special instructions from an unknown passenger in the new Carry-On trailer; the film premieres Dec. 13 via Netflix. “You got 10 minutes before everyone in this airport dies,” the unknown passenger, played by Jason Bateman, says. “All you have to do is nothing.”

The trailer, released Wednesday, features an explosive car crash, shoot-outs, and a carry-on bag with an undisclosed weapon. Carry-On follows novice Tsa agent Ethan who attempts to stop the unknown traveler from letting the deadly package onto a Christmas Eve flight.

The new thriller, directed by journeyman filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra, stars Taron Egerton as a Tsa agent who is being blackmailed by a very bad guy (played by Jason Bateman) into letting a suitcase slip through security.

The action movie debuts Dec. 13 on the streamer, and a brand-new trailer out Wednesday gives a taste of what to expect from this Christmastime thriller. Watch it below.

Sure, the trailer is brief, but it gives a sense of what fun will be in store this holiday season. Plus, Collet-Serra has directed several terrific thrillers that involve public transportation, including “Non-Stop” and “The Commuter,” so this is very much in his wheelhouse. And Egerton makes for a very sympathetic hero.

“Carry-On” also follows in the footsteps of “Die Hard,” “Lethal Weapon” (or pretty much anything screenwriter Shane Black wrote) and, more recently, “Silent Night,” in terms of action movies set during Christmas.

The “Ozark,” “Horrible Bosses,” and “Game Night” star puts on a domestic-terrorist face (and hat) in the teaser for Netflix Christmas movie “Carry-On.” It’s, ah, not exactly “Elf.”

In “Carry-On,” before Bateman can terrorize a Christmas Eve flight, he first must make Taron Egerton’s job a living hell. Oh, and he might just kill the young Tsa agent’s significant other, played by Sofia Carson, as well.

“One bag for one life,” is Bateman’s blackmail offer.

We’re guessing he doesn’t have Clear.

Basically, Bateman targets Egerton to let his mysterious suitcase through the security scanners and onto the airplane. We don’t quite know (yet) what is in the package, but considering the gunfire and Tom Cruise-esque sprinting through the airport, Bateman’s cargo is probably a bit worse than nail clippers.

Director Jaume Collet-Serra’s airport-focused action film hits the streaming service Dec. 13. Rounding out the cast are Sofia Carson, Danielle Deadwyler, Sinqua Walls, Logan Marshall-Green, Theo Rossi, Josh Brener and Dean Norris.

Carry-On centers on an inexperienced Tsa agent (Egerton) who ends up in a battle of wits with a mysterious traveler (Bateman) after the stranger blackmails him into allowing a dangerous package onto a flight on Christmas Eve.

“You have 10 minutes before everybody in this airport dies,” Bateman says in voiceover in the trailer. “All you have to do is nothing.”

The film is directed by Thea Sharrock and is an adaptation based on the Eléonore Pourriat-directed French film, “Je Ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile.” The movie will be written by Katie Silberman, Natalie Krinsky and Cinco Paul.

The official logline for “Ladies First” reads: “A womanizer gets a real wakeup call when he finds himself in a world dominated by women – a fiery female counterpart makes things far more complicated.”

The film’s producers are Liza Chasin for 3dot Productions, Eleonore Dailly, Edouard de Lachomette and Four By Two Films. The project falls under Chasin’s creative partnership with Netflix, which sees her produce feature films via 3dot Productions. Coming up next from the partnership is “Lonely Planet” starring Laura Dern and “The Life List” starring Sofia Carson.

According to his label, Big Hit Music, Jimin’s performance was pre-recorded and is scheduled to air at 11:35 p.m. on Monday night’s show.
