Michelle Sun was born in China, and grew up in Tokyo and New York. She's trilingual in Chinese, English and Japanese. Her diverted background and rapidly moving life style have shaped her to be an open minded, adaptable and humorous individual. She pursued acting and psychology BFA degrees in college, then started performing in Off-Broadway shows and commercials after her graduation.
Michelle Sun was the First Runner Up of 2013 Miss NY Chinese Beauty Pageant Contest. She was also the winner of Best Talent Award, Most Photogenic Award, Best Presentation Award and Most Popular Award of that year.
Michelle's first principal role was in the globally distributed 2014 commercial Chinese film - "Forever Young" which screened in June, 2015. In the summer of 2015, she shot "BaiNiao (White Bird)" which was nominated as an Official Selection of Berlinale Shorts 2016. It was the only Chinese short film that was nominated that year. She also participated in many other Awards winning projects such as "Gold Fortune", which won 2017 New Era Film Festival - Best Drama.
She was the voice of K-pop shoes in "Those Who Can't" comedy series. She recently starred in drama projects such as "Where Dreams Rest", "Until Death Do Us Apart"(LGBTQ), fantasy, horror projects "My Friend Dahmer", "Ghosts", and comedy projects such as "Study For Love 2+2" and "Ice Jelly". Other than acting in TV and film, she's worked as a voice over actor for radio commercials, animation and games. She lives and works in Los Angeles, acting for commercials, films and television.
Living in Los Angeles has inspired Michelle Sun to write and produce her own content as well. Since comedy has always been underneath her skin, she produced and co-wrote a comedy sketch in the summer of 2017 with her writing partner - "F - Is For Fetish", which was featured on the home page of "Funny Or Die" and "Whohaha" websites. AsAmNews also wrote an article about the sketch as well.
Michelle Sun loves outdoor activities and enjoys stand-up comedy. She likes to have deep conversations, but laughter is an essential element in her daily life.
