Tony Sam is an Emmy-winning producer, writer, and stand-up comedian born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.
After earning a Marine Biology degree from Florida Atlantic University, he pursued a scientific career that took him to various locations around the Caribbean, until eventually, he ended up at Chicago's Children's Memorial Hospital, where he worked as a research associate and co-authored a paper published in the prestigious scientific journal, Nature Medicine.
But as fate would have it, Tony would find his true calling on stage, making people laugh.
He kick-started his comedy journey by dazzling audiences with improv at ImprovOlympic (IO Chicago) and Second City. Not stopping there, he co-founded the highly regarded alt-stand-up showcase, Chicago Underground Comedy.
And it wouldn't be long before he ventured into the world of television, where he worked his magic as a writer and producer for popular shows like Josh Gates Tonight, Food: Fact or Fiction? (hosted by the legendary Michael McKean), Ridiculousness, Super Fan Builds, Jay Leno's Garage, and the Emmy-winning home renovation sensation, Instant Dream Home (hosted by the incomparable Danielle Brooks).
Not one to be kept behind the scenes, Tony has also graced the small screen, appearing on shows like CONAN, Those Who Can't, Hack My Life, and Josh Gates Tonight. You may have also caught him in national TV commercials for big-name brands such as Breathe Right, Kwikset, Honda, IHOP, DoorDash, and Instacart.
As a stand-up comic, he's brought the house down at acclaimed comedy festivals across the country, including TBS Just For Laughs - Chicago, RIOT LA, BRIDGETOWN, Bumbershoot, and the NY Fringe, to name just a few.
And if that's not impressive enough, his comedy album, "Scaredy Cat," garnered glowing praise from the Huffington Post, and LA WEEKLY has hailed him as a "Comic to Watch."
