- [on using the new Kirk (Chris Pine) instead of William Shatner in the mission logo for Picard & Kirk Into Space (2012)] We're still flying Shatner! We just put Pine in the logo to appeal to the huge new audience of Star Trek fans from the 2009 movie. / Shatner has passed the reigns to Chris Pine so I thought it only makes sense to include him as that's who we are going to be seeing from now on. Of course, all of us Star Trek fans have more history with Shatner since "the new Kirk" has only been in one movie, but it's just the start and Chris Pine is the Kirk from here on out. Space enthusiasts always look to the future instead of the past.
- [on Picard & Kirk Into Space (2012)] Picard and Kirk still have about 20,000 more light years to go, but this is a start. It wouldn't surprise me if a few hundred years from now, there are actually captains named Picard and Kirk sailing throughout the galaxy on *real* starships. Because, after all, reality is what we make it.
