The Washington Post is launching a new digital newsroom that aims to reach consumers on non-traditional platforms like Twitter and Facebook, the organization said on Monday.
The newsroom — its third overall — will utilize artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to produce more visual-storytelling, the Post said. It will also offer “flexible payment methods” for consumers who want to support the Post’s new digital news offerings, though it didn’t offer any insight into how that will work.
The venture will be separate, but complementary, to the Post’s core newsroom, which is focused on creating print and video journalism in a traditional sense, distributed across the legacy newspaper format and the Washington Post website and apps.

It may not look like it on screen, what with the seemingly endless emotional blows, but Mariska Hargitay said she is "having the time of my life" on Law & Order: Svu, 19 seasons on the job. Hargitay's Lt. Olivia Benson has been put through the wringer on numerous occasions, most recently in the Wednesday, Nov. 29 episode, "Something Happened." The episode, a departure from Svu's traditional episode structure, saw Hargitay flexing her Emmy-winning acting muscles in new ways. The episode was essentially a two-person play. In "Something Happened," Benson dug deep inside herself to address issues she's long repressed about her father, as well as the traumatic abuse William Lewis...

Like she said in the season premiere, Law & Order: Svu‘s Lt. Olivia Benson is the one who usually asks the child-welfare questions — not the one under pressure to answer them.
So when the lieutenant found herself fielding suspicious questions from a District Attorney’s Office investigator in this week’s episode, portrayer Mariska Hargitay noted at a recent press event, Benson went from uncomfortable to hopping mad before she could help herself. “That’s why I’m like, ‘I’m the one, I’m the arbiter of justice. I’m the truth-teller. You don’t question me ever, and that’s what it is,...

Mama Bear Benson is out in full force in the Wednesday, Oct. 4 episode of Law & Order: Svu. In the above sneak peek, Mariska Harigtay's Olivia Benson is put through quite an experience. No, it's not torture at the hands of William Lewis, but her parental abilities are in question. In the Law & Order: Svu season 19 premiere, Noah (Ryan Buggle) told his teacher his mom, Benson, gave him the bruise on his arm. She did in fact do that—when she was grabbing him from getting hit by oncoming traffic. Cassidy (Dean Winters) returned to tell his ex-girlfriend she was under investigation by the district attorney's office after his teacher, a mandatory reporter, flagged the possible abuse. The clip...

Will Louis be able to get back on Tara's good side?
That's certainly one of the bigger questions after Suits Season 6 Episode 15. Louis did not want his relationship to be full of secrets because that does not make for a rock-solid foundation.
It was perfectly understandable that he would want to come clean, but I don't think his chat with Rachel was worthwhile. Louis has been with Tara for, like, five minutes.
Rachel and Mike's relationship had been going on for considerably longer, so whatever Rachel said was never going to mirror the outcome she got.
Louis and Tara rushed together and that's probably why their relationship is more likely to implode than others. They don't know much about each other, and that's not a good thing.
Tara was completely right to storm off after Louis called her out for being with two men at once. The difference here is...

Poor Rachel.
On Suits Season 6 Episode 13 she was denied access to the bar. This was due to someone on the board wanting Harvey to do something to guarantee her place.
At first, it seemed like all of this was on the heels of Rachel's relationship with Mike. All roads lead to Mike on this show, but I'm this story took an unpredictable route.
That said, the idea of Mike taking the bar and returning to Pearson Specter Litt is a bit of a stretch. The series has excelled with everyone picking up the pieces following Mike's jail stint.
Mike parting ways with the firm was like a breath of fresh air. It would be great if he got his happy ending, but I'd much rather it was somewhere away from Psl.
Mike: You're never going to believe it, but they have me supervising a third year law student, thinks she knows more than me.

It was a bittersweet night for Julia Louis-Dreyfus who broke down in tears Sunday after accepting her seventh Emmy Award. The actress revealed that her father, billionaire business mogul William Louis-Dreyfus, died two days earlier. Yet her costar says that if anyone could put on a brave face and attend the Emmys in those circumstances, it's her. "I think that there is something about Julia, like she is just the kind of person that can do something like tonight under those circumstances," Veep costar Timothy Simons, told People while attending the HBO Emmys afterparty. "It's amazing. I mean, it's amazing.

His daughter is a world-famous seven-time Emmy winner, but William Louis-Dreyfus lived a life just as incredible as Julia's. Mike has a tough decision ahead of him.
On Suits Season 6 Episode 3, Sean got word to Harvey that Mike could get out early if he ratted out his friend, Kevin.
Below, TV Fanatics Allison Nichols, Jasmine Blu, Stacy Glanzman and Christine Hinton discuss Mike's decision, Rachel being ridiculed and what's going on with Donna.
Should Mike turn on Kevin to get out early?
Allison: I vote yes. Save Yourself, Mike! Mike would be able to escape Gallo's grasp, and he could return to his life, whatever that looks like now that he can't be a lawyer.
Jasmine: Ughhhh! I'm still not sure if I actually trust Kevin, but he did put himself out there for Mike. I really don't want him to because principles. Damn those principles.
Stacy: No, I don't think it's in Mike's nature to do that. I think he would have a hard time living with that decision if he did it.

Suits is back!
On Suits Season 6 Episode 1, the team had to try find a way out of what happened to the firm.
Below, TV Fanatics, Jasmine, Christine Hinton and Stacy Glanzman discuss Mike's first night, Frank's next move and what Rachel will do...
What did you think of Mike's first night on the inside?
Jasmine: I loved most of it. We bid adieu to that god awful haircut and Theo Huxtable called Mike out on being an entitled narcissist. The Frank "twist" was anticlimactic. Didn't they put a cop in Mike's cell to get a confession out of him when he was first arrested? How could he see through that but fall into Frank's trap? This isn't Camp Cupcake, Mikey! You're better than this!
Christine: I loved Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s character calling Mike out on his attitude. I couldn’t believe it when Mike whined about being left in the room for hours.

The Wall Street Journal and its parent company, Dow Jones, have pledged to close the pay gap affecting women and minorities. The decision comes after a report showed that women at the company were paid only 87 percent as much as men. Dow Jones CEO William Lewis emailed staffers on Wednesday to express concern over the situation, according to CNNMoney. “Any pay disparity relating to an employee’s race or gender is troubling and inconsistent with the standards I strive to maintain at Dow Jones,” Lewis wrote. Wall Street Journal editor Gerard Baker followed up with his own email to his staff on Thursday.

A self-acknowledged "showcase for Academy Award frontrunners," the Santa Barbara International Film Festival is often overlooked for the actual films that earn it festival status. An amalgamation of international discoveries and ’merica’s circuit highlights, the Sbiff curates a week of best-of-the-best to pair with their star-praising. The 2015 edition offers another expansive selection, bookended by two films that aren’t on any radars just yet. Sbiff will open with "Desert Dancer," producer Richard Raymond’s directorial debut. Starring Reece Ritchie and Frieda Pinto, the drama follows a group of friends who wave off the harsh political climate of Iran’s 2009 presidential election in favor of forming a dance team, picking up moves from Michael Jackson, Gene Kelly and Rudolf Nureyev thanks to the magic of YouTube. The festival will close with "McFarland, USA," starring Kevin Costner and Maria Bello. Telling the 1987 true story of a Latino high school’s underdog cross-country team,...
