- My father was an alcoholic and a drug addict. He was a very violent man. On several occasions, he tried to kill my mother, and on at least one occasion, he tried to kill all of us. My older brother was 13, I was 10, and my sister was 5. Fortunately, God intervened. My mom was able to get a restraining order and then divorced him.
- I'm convinced that there has been a tremendous urgency placed upon my life by the Holy Spirit, an urgency to get the Gospel out to as many people as possible. I believe God wants me to go and share the Gospel everywhere, anywhere people will have me. I've never had this calling on my life so strongly before, but I'm convinced of it right now. I'm convinced Jesus is coming back very soon.
- Every night I prayed the same prayer, God would take that hatred (out of me), because I did not want to hate my father, I just didn't know how not to.
- [When he was introduced to playing the piano]: Somebody had to come and help me. But I remember once I was up there, I was happy.
