Greg Kegel

A graduate of UC Berkeley's Architecture program, Greg Kegel joined Industrial Light & Magic in the spring of 2013. Greg began his career in special media marketing campaigns for architectural projects, then moved into the entertainment sector at Blur Studio where he supervised 3d animation-based projects including commercials and video game cinematics for AAA franchises "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed," "Far Cry," and "Mass Effect." During his time at Blur, he also lead the work on VES nominated "Prey 2" cinematic trailer and work for Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel."
Since joining ILM, Greg has worked as a CG Supervisor for VES and Oscar-nominated "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and was nominated by the Visual Effects Society for Outstanding Created Environment in a Photoreal Feature for work he supervised on "Tomorrowland." Acting as ILM Vancouver's overall generalist environments head of department during projects such as "Warcraft," and "The Revenant," Greg also supervised ILM Vancouver's work on "Spectre" as an Associate VFX Supervisor," and was VFX Supervisor for Joseph Kosinski's "Only the Brave," Ron Howard's "SOLO: A Star Wars Story," and Guy Ritchie's live-action "Aladdin". Greg supervised shots on "Terminator: Dark Fate" before diving into the on set Virtual Production work on The Mandalorian Season 2 in Los Angeles, and now--with other former ILM colleagues--manages a boutique studio visual effects studio: Distillery VFX in Vancouver.
