Hala Matar is the first of her kind. The director tells The Hollywood Reporter she is the first female Bahraini director to make a feature film. Great Escape, the Los Angeles-based sales division of Yale Entertainment, has boarded international sales for EFM on The Seven Faces Of Jane, the multi-director project starring in-demand Gillian Jacobs.

Roman Coppola produced the romantic comedy-drama and Jacobs inhabits the titular role of a woman who tumbles through a gauntlet of surreal, beautiful and heartbreaking adventures.

Jacobs directed the first and last scenes of The Seven Faces Of Jane and the other directors include Gia Coppola, Boma Iluma, Ryan Heffington, Xan Cassavetes, Julian J. Acosta, The Hangover breakout Ken Jeong, and Alex Takacs.

Netflix officially pulled the plug on Fate: The Winx Saga after two seasons earlier this week.

Winx franchise creator Iginio Straffi revealed this week that the Netflix cancellation "is for a bigger reason."

The latest show to fall victim to the service’s brutal cancellation decisions is Fate: The Winx Saga.

Netflix released the series in 2021, hoping it would be another huge cultural hit in a similar way to Stranger Things and Bridgerton.

Despite receiving enough streams to send it to the top of the charts in several countries around the world, Netflix was unable to see a future for the series.

Showrunner Brian Young announced the news, writing on Instagram: “This is not fun news to share, but Netflix [has] decided not to move forward with season three of Fate: The Winx Saga. This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season. It’s a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same.”

He added: “It’s been an amazing four years.

For better or worse, Hollywood's nostalgia-mining tendencies come for us all. “Fate: The Winx Saga” Season 2 brought more danger for the teenage fairies at The Alfea School of magic, as they faced one of the strongest villains they’ve come across – Sebastian.

When Abigail Cowen first read the script for Netflix’s “Fate: The Winx Saga,” she knew it was special. The show involved teenage fairies, attending a private boarding school. But while the series had that magic supernatural twist, its group of high schoolers had relatable insecurities and struggles with growing up and finding who you are.

“I was like, ‘This is actually kind of synonymous with embracing what makes you different, and really finding the love in that,’” Cowen said when we sat down with her for an exclusive TheWrap Studio photoshoot and interview. “And when you do embrace what makes you different, then your magic flourishes.”

If you've been craving more supernatural dramas since "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" ended, Netflix's series "Fate: The Winx Saga" is here to satisfy your binge-watching needs. The first season premiered on Jan. 22, 2021, and it's filled with tons of drama, magic, and mystery. On Feb. 18, 2021, Netflix confirmed that the series had been renewed for a second season, which will consist of eight episodes. The streamer released the official trailer on Aug. 23, and it foreshadows a dramatic follow-up to the first season's intense conclusion.

The series is based on the animated series "Winx Club," which ran for eight seasons, so there is plenty of source material for the upcoming season. While the Netflix series faced criticism for its live-action adaptation, particularly the whitewashing of some of the main fairies, the intriguing plot certainly drew audiences in.

Exclusive: UTA has signed actor Abigail Cowen for representation in all areas.

Cowen stars in Netflix’s teen drama series Fate: The Winx Saga, which topped the streamer’s Top 10 Movie and TV series for the entirety of its premiere-week run. Based on Winx Club, Iginio Straffi’s animated series for Nickelodeon, the show follows Cowen’s Bloom Peters — a fairy adjusting to life in the Otherworld, where she must learn to control her dangerous magical powers. It returns for Season 2 on September 16.

Cowen has been seen on such notable series as Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Stranger Things, Wisdom of the Crowd, The Fosters and The Power Couple.

She most recently starred on the film side in D.J. Caruso’s adaptation of Francine Rivers’ novel Redeeming Love for Universal, having previously appeared in the features Witch Hunt and I Still Believe.

Oscar-nominated Miranda Richardson (Good Omens) and Daniel Betts (War Machine) have joined the cast of Netflix original series Fate: The Winx Saga for its upcoming second season, which premieres globally September 16.

Exclusive: Awa Studios has tapped Elle Callahan to direct a feature film adaptation of the company’s original graphic fiction series Hotell. She will also co-adapt the script with Anthony Ruff. Awa Studios president Zach Studin is producing.

“I’m very excited to be working with Awa to adapt John Lees’ terrifying graphic novel Hotell,” Callahan said. “I aim to tell stories that push the horror genre in new directions — and my plan for this piece involves a very unique approach to the storytelling. This horror will feel all too relatable, and no doubt keep you up at night.”

The graphic novel presents a story of dread and intrigue and a mosaic of characters, set in the mysterious and frightening backdrop of the Pierrot Courts Hotel. It was written by well-known comic book creator Lees, drawn by artist Dalibor Talajic, and edited by Awa co-founder and chief creative officer Axel Alonso.

Netflix is taking viewers back to the Otherworld this fall (exact date Tbd) with a second season of Fate: The Winx Saga, and we have your first look at a highly anticipated “new” character.

As TVLine previously reported, Paulina Chavez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia) is joining the live-action Winx Club adaptation as earth fairy Flora, whose conspicuous absence from the show’s first season did not sit well with fans.
