Abbie Richards is an actor, writer, singer and community organizer living in Brooklyn by way of Amish Country, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating with a Bachelor's in Acting and Directing from DeSales University, she advanced through the improvisational program at the Upright Citizens Brigade, where she also began to develop her niche as a sketch comedy writer. After completing her studies she had a stint as a professional backup vocalist for Jojo Abot, during which they opened for musicians including Lauryn Hill, Santigold, and Jidenna.
In 2017, Richards decided to focus solely on TV and film after writing her first short, a slice of life entitled "Reincarnation", which has since screened at several international film festivals. In 2021 she wrote a multi-award winning short comedy entitled "Linger" (co-starring alongside Alex MacNicoll) which was accepted into more than 15 film festivals worldwide.
