Biography

Actor, producer, development producer and first assistant director, Sophie Renae is an experienced and versatile filmmaker who is passionate about telling Australian scripted stories that can travel around the world.

Sophie studied full-time at the Actors Centre Australia (AUS), MET Film School (UK), and International Screen Academy (AUS).

Since graduating in 2016, Sophie has worked in a range of professional roles on major scripted projects. Most recently she was the Associate Producer on CJZ's Darby and Joan S2 for Acorn TV (UK). Sophie was also the in-house Drama Coordinator at CJZ from 2022-2024.

Previously, while in-house at Australian streaming platform, Stan, Sophie worked on the production and development of several Stan Originals including BUMP (Roadshow Rough Diamond), Eden (EveryCloud Productions), A Sunburnt Christmas (EveryCloud Productions), Bloom (Playmaker), After The Night (EQ Media), and more.

She has also worked in production on projects including The PM's Daughter (ABC/Fremantle), Colin From Accounts (Binge/Easy Tiger), The Last King of the Cross (Helium) and Once Upon a Time in Serbia (Tiny's Productions), an Australian/Serbian feature filmed primarily in Serbia.
