Jessica Koloian was born and raised in Plymouth, Michigan. She is of Armenian, German, and Austrian descent. Koloian began performing at a young age by memorizing Bible verses and inspirational monologues, which she would recite in front of her church congregation and Sunday school classes.
Growing up, she waffled between the career paths of the last strong female character of a film or TV show she had seen. It was not until her Freshman year of high school that she discovered that acting was in fact a career path, and it was then that Koloian knew that she would make acting her career.
She went on to star as Millie in "Thoroughly Modern Millie", her senior year of high school. This solidified her plan to study theatre. After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, she landed a lead role in "Courageous Love" (2017).
While on set for another film, she met director George A. Johnson. Koloian and Johnson kept in touch, and he later requested a some comedic monologues from her. Shortly there after, he sent her sides to audition for a comedy he had written. Upon submission, he said, "Thanks. What do you think about thrillers?" He sent her the script for another film he had written and asked her to let him know if she wanted to go out for a role in it. She read it, submitted immediately, and was later cast as the lead, Amber, in "Thy Neighbor" (2018).
Koloian has continued to work with Johnson and will star in his upcoming feature film "Pulled from Darkness" (2021).
