His first film Keyamot Thekey Keyamot was remake of Indian film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.

He is often compared to Hollywood actor James Dean due to sharing many similarities with him. Both Dean & Shah started on TV & went on to appear in successful movies. Both were known for their acting, fashion choices & love for automobiles. They also died at the peak of their careers at the untimely age of 24 & left lasting legacies for generations to come.

His grandfather acted in Mukh O Mukhosh. It released in 1956 & was the first Bengali-language feature film to be made in East Pakistan.

His hobbies were photography, exercising, going to long drives, playing cricket & shopping from luxury fashion houses.

He was passionate about cars. He was the first Bangladeshi to import a Toyota Sera (Phase III) version from Japan in 1995 which was famous for its butterfly doors & the inspiration behind Gordon Murray for Mclaren F1.

Started his career as a ramp model and appeared in commercials for Coca Cola, Cats Eye etc.

Three of his movies namely Shopner Thikana, Keyamot Theke Keyamot & Sotter Mrittu Nei are among the top ten highest grossing Bangladeshi movies of all time at number 2, 5 & 9 respectively.

Was fluent in English, Bengali, Hindi & Urdu simultaneously. Also knew how to speak the local Bengali accents of Barishal, Noakhali, Sylhet & Chittagong.

Started acting as a child artist in shows & was a registered artist of TV under the national channel of Bangladesh known as Bangladesh Television or BTV.

Finished his secondary & higher secondary education from Arab Mission Public School & Adamjee Cantonment College respectively before proceeding to complete his Bachelor of Commerce from Dr. Maleka University College.

He was the first choice & partially shot for movies like Mon Mane Na, Tumi Shudhu Tumi, Shesh Thikana, Ke Oporadhi etc which were re-filmed with other actors replacing him after his death. Also was cast in & supposed to start filming movies like Coolie, Praner Cheye Priyo etc but due to his sudden demise the makers cast other actors for his roles.

Two of his films Ei Ghor, Ei Songsar & Mayer Odhikar were remade in Tollywood or Bengali language film industry of West Bengal, India after his death with Prasenjit Chatterjee playing Shah's characters in both.

He was an avid collector of branded watches, hats, perfumes & shoes.

He & Mousumi, his first feature film leading lady went to the same primary school in Khulna, Bangladesh when their respective fathers were professionally transferred there for a short time.

He was able to re-enter the audience of Bangladesh in theaters again after it lost it's popularity to Indian movies through VHS.
