Ginny & Georgia star Antonia Gentry was recently seen in the time travel slasher Time Cut, and earlier today we heard that Gentry’s co-star Nikki Roumel stars in the upcoming time travel supernatural thriller You Don’t Belong Here. Now, Deadline has revealed that another Ginny & Georgia cast member has just signed on to star in a genre film… although this one doesn’t involve time travel. Titled Nest, this film is about deadly arachnids, and the Ginny & Georgia cast member who is set to star in it is Felix Mallard.

Felix Mallard, best known for his breakout role as Marcus Baker in Ginny & Georgia, is stepping into a darker, more thrilling role. He is set to star in an upcoming creature feature called Nest. Prepare for a wild ride as the actor enters a terrifying home invasion story where the threat isn't humans but a giant female spider!

This will be the first-ever horror-esque project Mallard has starred in. Besides Ginny & Georgia, the young Australian actor has had roles in other TV shows such as Neighbours, Happy Together, Locke & Key and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. And just like that, the cast and crew have finally finished shooting the highly anticipated Ginny & Georgia season 3. According to Deadline, the cameras officially stopped rolling on the third season on Sept. 13. Ginny & Georgia cast member Sara Waisglass, who plays Maxine "Max" Baker in the hit teen series, just recently took to Instagram to express her excitement about production wrapping.

Honestly, it comes as no surprise that production has wrapped this month. Back in February 2024, there was a rumor going around that the third season would begin filming on April 29, 2024, and run through to September. Principal photography did, in fact, start on this date, with Netflix sharing several photos of the cast at one of their table reads for the third season.

Many things weigh on Aza Holmes, the anxious protagonist of Hannah Marks’ Turtles All the Way Down, but none more than the existence of bacteria. Thoughts of these microorganisms — the ease with which they can infiltrate a body and the chances of infection — plague her. She worries about a wound on her left middle finger, a slit in the skin she can’t let heal. Picking at the sore relieves her obsessive thought spirals, but it also activates a new round of worries about contamination, disease and the impossibility of safety.

Aza, played by Isabela Merced (Madame Web) has anxiety and Ocd, conditions that make the already challenging experience of high school even more difficult. Turtles All the Way Down, which Marks (Don’t Make Me Go) adapted from John Green’s novel of the same name, is a mostly moving portrait of how one teenager navigates her mind’s unruly terrain.

“Turtles All the Way Down” was always going to be a tricky movie to get right. Based on a popular, well-reviewed 2017 book of the same name by YA maestro John Green, the story follows Aza (Isabela Merced) a girl with sometimes-crippling Ocd — in addition to regular Being a Teen problems. It’s a beautiful story, but not one that necessarily screams blockbuster.

Green himself — who oversaw adaptions of his work like “Paper Towns” and “Looking for Alaska” and serves as an EP on “Turtles” — was hesitant about selling the rights to adapt it, he recalled to IndieWire.

“It was hard for me to imagine that a good movie could be made from the book,” Green said. “Also, Hollywood has a long history of depicting Ocd terribly. But because the producers were people I had such confidence in, I felt like we could at least give it a shot.”

Reminiscing about the glory days of youth? Don’t. Bestselling author John Green — whose work has spawned a legion of big- and small-screen adaptations — certainly doesn’t. In Green’s stories, teenagehood is hard enough (and then some) as his beloved characters go through puberty, prom, and first love in tandem with far bigger worries ranging from cancer to obsessive compulsive disorder. People go missing, people aren’t ever found, people die.

It’s not exactly the stuff of popcorn entertainment, but Green’s stories always place a premium on the viewpoint of the kids who experience them and the youngsters who observe them. Being a teenager? It’s not for the faint of heart. Being a Green teen? Well, at least someone is treating you like an adult.

The latest Green adaptation, “Turtles All the Way Down,” offers yet another sterling example of that mindset and the power of it.

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced the movies, TV shows, and live sports that will be available on the Max streaming service in May. The Max May 2024 lineup includes season three of the comedy series Hacks, the drama series Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, and the unscripted series Thirst with Shay Mitchell.

The May schedule also includes the comedy special Nikki Glaser: Someday You’ll Die, as well as the original documentaries Stax: Soulsville, U.S.A. and MoviePass, MovieCrash. Turtles All the Way Down, Stop Making Sense, and The Iron Claw are some of the films coming to the service.

Brianne Howey doesn't just play a mom on TV anymore - now she's one in real life, too. On June 18, the "Ginny & Georgia" star revealed on Instagram that she and her husband, Matt Ziering, have welcomed their first child together.

Howey announced the news by sharing a photo of herself smiling in a hospital bed with her newborn cradled on her chest. She and Ziering have not yet shared the baby's name. "My whole world just got a whole lot sweeter," she captioned her post. "And smaller. Welcome my little love."

The cast of the hit Netflix series announced the renewal in a ‘Get Ready With Me’ video collage uploaded to Instagram on Wednesday as they speculated what lies ahead in the following seasons of the comedy-drama.

Netflix has given the incredibly popular romantic drama Virgin River an early season six renewal ahead of its season five premiere. The fifth season is expected to premiere this fall; however, Netflix hasn’t announced an official target date.

On Wednesday, Netflix's first formal Upfronts presentation brought some exciting news for fans of the streaming service's most beloved shows.

Ginny & Georgia, which has been in limbo since January, has secured a pickup for two more seasons, keeping the show on the air through what will likely be the fourth -- and final -- season.

In an exclusive post-mortem interview in January, then-showrunner Debra J. Fisher teased that she and series creator Sarah Lampert had mapped out a four-season run for the show.

The renewal announcement's delay is shocking, especially considering the show has been a strong performer for Netflix.

However, the streaming service confirmed that Sarah Glinski (Degrassi: Next Class) will take over as showrunner from Fisher.

There is no reason for the switcheroo, but fans will be happy knowing the show is returning.

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 concluded with countless cliffhangers, including Georgia being arrested for murder.

Updated: Netflix has renewed Ginny & Georgia, starring Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry, for a third and fourth season. Sarah Glinski (Degrassi: The Next Generation) has been named showrunner for the upcoming seasons. She replaces Debra J. Fisher, who served as showrunner on the first two seasons.

Given Ginny & Georgia’s very strong performance and very appealing economics, the two-season order is not a surprise; Netflix has done it on other series with similar pedigree, including Virgin River.

What is surprising was the four-month wait for a series of that level of ratings success to be renewed. According to sources, the pickup was done awhile ago but held for Netflix’s upfront.

As for the showrunner change, there had been rumors about friction between Fisher and Ginny & Georgia creator Sarah Lampert. By April, there was speculation that Fisher would be departing the series.
