Bogdan Theodor Olteanu is a Romanian independent filmmaker. He has written and directed three feature films and four theatrical plays. He assumed the dual role of writer and producer for a fourth feature. -- Due to the absence of any kind of formal arts education, Bogdan's trajectory into filmmaking was a convoluted one. Initially, he was a rugby player in a top Romanian club and later pivoted to become an investigative journalist for a leading daily newspaper. Following this, he explored diverse career paths as a sports marketing consultant and a political communication consultant. Simultaneously, he wrote short stories and collaborated with various culture magazines. -- Bogdan's body of work immerses itself in the ever-evolving realm of urban youth, deftly capturing the intricacies of different generations as they grapple with questions of identity. His narratives navigate the delicate balance between extreme libertarian values and the rich historical and societal tapestry of the Balkans. A native of Bucharest, Bogdan strategically sets all his stories in this vibrant city-a melting pot of influences where Russia, Turkey, and the European Union converge, providing a distinctive backdrop for his characters and their tales.
