The inaugural World Culture Film Festival kicks off in Los Angeles Thursday, a four-day event “dedicated to showcasing films that inspire, educate, and celebrate diverse cultures.”

Wcff opens with Oscar-shortlisted dramedy The Monk and the Gun, directed by Pawo Choyning Dorji. The Bhutanese filmmaker — whose Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom earned a 2022 Academy Award nomination for Best International Film — will be present for a Q&a to follow The Monk and the Gun screening.

The festival closes with Wim Wenders’ Oscar-nominated Perfect Days, a drama about Hirayama (Koji Yakusho), a man who cleans Tokyo’s public toilets, which are renowned for their immaculate appearance.

The film focuses on Calabrian mafia boss Saro who kidnaps the grandson of one of the world’s richest men, Jean Paul Getty, and endangers his entire organization when he falls in love with his victim’s mother (Holmes) during the fraught ransom negotiations.

Munawar Faruqui was declared the winner of the 17th season of the controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ in a star-studded grand finale held on Sunday evening and went on till early hours of Monday.

Munawar, who started with a fan following with 6.1 million on Instagram and currently has 11.3 million, took home the trophy along with a whopping amount of over Rs 50 lakh and a Hyundai Creta car.

Having spent 105 days inside the house, touted as one of the most difficult places to be in, Munawar maintained the position alongside the other four top contenders Ankita Lokhande, Mannara Chopra, Abhishek Kumar and Arun Mahshetty.

Salman also congratulated Abhishek and said he played really well.

Manasvi won the title of Femina Miss India World 2010 and represented India at Miss World 2010. She previously won the titles of Miss India Tourism International and Miss Tourism International 2008. In 2016, she, became the Indian Ambassador to the Republican Hindu Coalition.

The actress was born in Delhi but grew up in Chandigarh. Her mother Prabha, is from Uttarakhand.

In 2014 she played the antagonist, Marina opposite Ajay Devgn in the Eros International studio movie ‘Action Jackson’, directed by Prabhu Deva.

What goes into your decision of what role you decide to do?

The makers of Action Jackson are going all out to promote their film and it has created a lot of buzz because of Ajay Devgn’s different looks and the peppy songs. Well after the music has released, a special ‘Aj Theme Song’ has been launched. This particular theme song does not feature in the audio soundtrack and its video features the films director Prabhudheva dancing with Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha and newbie Manasvi Mamgai.

While we have already seen Ajay Devgn dancing to ‘Keeda’ and ‘Punjabi Mast’, the film’s theme song ‘Aj’ shows director Prabhudheva in the song as well where he is seen dancing in his unique style.

This title track of the film will showcase Prabhudheva dancing in his freestyle form where else Ajay Devgn will be seen in his action avatar mouthing few dialogues of the film in his style.

The song launch event saw debutant Manasvi Mamgai grooving stylishly to the beats of ‘Gangster Baby’. The actress who was looking smoking hot called Ajay Devgn by the end of her performance and Prabhudheva joined the duo later on the stage.

The peculiarity of this song lies in its fast paced beats that make it very apt for a party number. Neeraj Sridhar and Neeti Mohan are the artists who have lend their vocals to this floor thumping track that adds to the action punch of the movie.

The latest song promo to release from the forthcoming Prabhudheva film ‘Action Jackson’, is the rock number ‘Gangster Baby’.

The song has been composed by Music Director, Singer, Actor and Producer Himesh Reshammiya. Himesh has proved once again why he truly is India’s first Rockstar, by composing this song. Rock music has generally not been embraced by Bollywood and where it has, it has often been misunderstood or toned down. ‘Gangster Baby’ is one of the first (almost pure) rock songs for Bollywood. Himesh has composed some excellent electrical guitar sections within the song and the piano even makes a cheeky appearance during the opening of the song.

Singers Neeti Mohan and Neeraj Shridhar have lent their voices to this gutsy composition. Neeti has given powerful vocals and this is probably one of her most experimental songs as a singer. The lyrics have been written by Shabbir Ahmed.

Ajay Devgn and Yami Gautam who recently went to Austria to shoot the romantic track ‘Dhoom Dham’ had to go through extreme weather conditions.

We hear that the actors shot an entire sequence when the temperature was at a shivering -10 degree Celsius.

A source close to the team said, “It is a romantic song between Ajay sir and Yami. The sequence is shot in the beautiful Alps but the temperature was on the extreme. When we arrived for recce we thought we would not be able to shoot but Ajay sir and Yami were so supportive that we managed to pull it off without any delays.”

Well, we must say that it takes a toll on the actors to shoot at such picturesque locations!

The creators of Ajay Devgn’s upcoming blockbuster Action Jackson have launched the trailer of the movie on 22nd Oct. Under the banner of Baba Films & Eros International and music by Himesh Reshammiya, this venture is a remake of Mahesh Babu’s Telugu superhit Dookudu.

The first impression of the trailer promises a complete entertainment package with everything from drama to dialogues to action for the viewer. Apparently, the Singham Returns star has no qualms in shaking a leg or two for Prabhu Deva and will be seen performing some sleek action and dance steps.
