Tim Saylor (Ringmaster Tim) was born and raised in Iowa and holds degrees from the University of Iowa in both German and Psychology. He has completed studies abroad at the University of Vienna, and is a certified computer programmer and web designer. Tim received the German Book Prize from the University of Iowa's German department in 1995 and the Class Third Prize for the Wiener Internationale Hochschulkurse at the University of Vienna in 1994. In 1990, he recorded tracks on the rock band No Spokes' debut (and only) album Way Big.
Prior to his television career on "Diggers" (2012-2015), and "Diggin with KG and Ringy" (2017-present), he lived in Anaconda, Montana, working as a computer programmer. It was there that he met copper mine worker "King" George Wyant, a fellow metal detecting enthusiast and his eventual TV co-host and business partner in the Anaconda Treasure Company (ATC).
After founding ATC in 2005, Tim and George created the Extreme Metal Detecting DVD series (EMD1 through EMD6), which featured the pair discovering treasures in Montana and other US locations, complete with crazy stunts and costumes for added entertainment. Ads and trailers for the EMD DVD series on ATC's YouTube channel attracted the interest of over 15 production companies, which led to the signing with Half Yard Productions to do the National Geographic TV series "Diggers".
