Carlos Garcia de Paredes started out as one of the pioneers of the film Industry in his native Panama, and soon became one of its most prominent international producers. In 2010 he was a producer in Abner Benaim's Chance, the first local film in 60 years. In 2014 he produced "Hands Of Stone" about legendary Panamanian Boxer Roberto Durán staring Academy Award Winner Robert De Niro and Edgar Ramírez. "Hands of Stone" was acquired by The Weinstein Company with a 2,000 screen release in the USA, and had a major international distribution deal, making it the first Latin American hero story to have simultaneous release in the US and the rest of the world.
Garcia De Paredes has co-produced several international releases such as "Dark Places" (Charlize Theron) , "Elsa and Fred" (Shirley Maclaine & Christopher Plummer) and Mexican Gloria Trevi's Biopic "Gloria".
in 2018 Carlos Co-Directed his first comedy "Sin Pepitas en La lengua".
His latest production is "Resistance", shot between Germany and Czech Republic starring, Award nominated actors Jesse Eisenberg, Ed Harris, Clemence Poesy, Edgar Ramírez, Mathias Schweighöfer and Bella Ramsey. The film is about an aspiring actor during WWII (who later became the legendary mime Marcel Marceu) whose desperate need to help children led him into the world of pantomime. Resistance had a Worldview release in 2020 and was acquired by IFC films.
