Richard Walters is a Canadian Jamaican actor(Lead on Degrassi), entertainer, dancer and recording artist from Toronto, Canada. Richard Walters began his professional acting career as a series regular on "Degrassi," appearing on six seasons of the popular teen drama. Since then, he has acted in many acclaimed films and TV shows such as "Akilla's Escape" (TIFF 2020), "American Woman" (TIFF 2019), "Frankie Drake Mysteries," "Hudson & Rex," and "Diggstown." In 2020, Richard earned the Reelworld Film Festival's Stand Out Actor for a Short Film Award for his performance in "An Uninvited Guest." Running parallel to his successful acting career, Richard has produced a slate of award-winning short films, music videos, TV pilots, and web series. His music video / short film hybrid "Speak" won the Jury Award for Best Short Film at the Miami 4 Social Change Film Festival. In 2019, Richard produced "Zeen?," a comedy mockumentary exploring how culture, race, and privilege impact the Caribbean diaspora. The film was made with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto. Following a successful international festival run, the film won multiple awards and has been distributed by CaribbeanTales Media Group.
