Richard Kodai was born on July 9, 1977 in Székesfehérvár, Hungary. Even
at an early age, he loved stories in books and in movies. He enjoyed
stories so much that at around the age of ten he began writing his own
tales. In the year 2000, at the age of 23, he moved to the United
States to chase the American Dream. He worked in the hospitality
industry for years, all the while trying to figure out the way to break
into the entertainment industry. Following years of aspiration, Kodai
made Jenny's Book of Twilight which is his first ever movie project.
After considering attending film school which was too expensive, he
realized that he need to stop aspiring and just make a movie with the
resources and knowledge that he already had. The experience would teach
him what he could not afford to learn in film school. Kodai derived a
lot of inspiration from film makers like Robert Rodriguez and Quentin
Tarantino who both broke into the film industry by foregoing film
school and taking movie making into their own hands. Kodai found people
online who were willing to contribute to his project simply because
they wanted to be part of something. Despite the fact that he could not
guarantee monetary compensation, Kodai was able to bring a remarkable
group of people together. Some of his cast and crew had worked on other
projects in the past but for many this was their very first movie
project. As a writer, Kodai is more experienced with writing. In fact
he has written a novel as well as many short stories. Some of his work
is published online and in print in his native Hungary. Kodai also
edited, worked on special effects, and composed much of the music for
Jenny's Book of Twilight.
