She and her studio partners have specialized for decades in unique design and fabrication for commercials, dance, stage, corporate events, film and TV. Among celebrity clients are Verne Troyer, Adrian Paul, Larry Wilmore, producers Felix & Paul, director James Merendino and Broadway legend Candese Marchese. Jennifer is by training and trade a skilled cutter-draper-pattern-maker who likes unusual projects plus researching and building period costumes.
She was born in Las Vegas to Air Force parents who worked at the Nevada Test Site (Area 51). Her father led a detachment that used scientific processes to detect if the Soviets were testing nukes and subverting the Limited Test Ban Treaty. As youngsters, Jennifer and her friends abducted household items to make costumes, props, sets and puppets.
For more than a decade through 2010, she developed and taught university courses in writing, theater and education. Jennifer returns periodically to campuses to teach or design. Her shop hosts college interns every semester and she gives workshops about design ethics to business and academic groups. Her MA in Performance Studies is from NYU. Her BA in English and MFA in Costume Design are both from her studies in Utah.
