Lauren Thomas was born in Perth, Western Australia. She commenced acting in 2006 performing in school plays and booked her first role in 2011, performing in a musical theatre production of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'.
Since then, Lauren has played lead and supporting roles in 45 projects including feature films, short films, web series and music videos. She starred in 'A Short Film Named Desire' which won the Honorable Mention Award at the Canada Shorts Film Festival 2017.
Lauren was one of the top four 'Most Promising Actresses of the Month' in the June 2015 Edition of StarCentral Magazine.
Lauren's acting training consists of weekly acting classes at Anthony Meindl's Actor Workshop for 6 weeks, Filmbites for 1 year and 10 weeks, The Perth Film Network Acting Studio for 32 weeks and Nicholson's Academy of Screen Acting for 8 weeks. It also consists of 16 acting short courses/ workshops at various acting schools including National Institute of Dramatic Art (N.I.D.A) and The Australian Film & Television Academy (T.A.F.T.A).
Lauren has worked as a presenter for several documentaries, interviewing various people at community events. She has also appeared in 2 episodes of web series 'Popcorn' as a presenter, interviewing people involved in the entertainment industry.
Lauren has a background in radio presenting and creative writing. In 2014, she worked with creative writing group 'The Gosnells Writers Circle' to create an original live to air program for community radio station, 107.3HFM. She hosted the show titled 'The Writers Circle' along with 2 other hosts every Sunday afternoon.
Hosting the program inspired Lauren to create one of her own, so in 2015 she created and hosted 'Thank God it's Friday' which was an upbeat program designed for a younger audience. It went live to air on 107.3HFM on Fridays during drive time.
